RYDALMERE PUBLIC SCHOOL UPGRADE
The Minns Labor Government is planning an upgrade to Rydalmere Public School to accommodate the future needs of the growing communities across the Rydalmere area.
The upgrade will include:
- a new hall with a COLA and new Out of School Hours facilities
- 3 new support learning classrooms
- refurbishment of the existing library
- refurbishment of the administrative facilities
- refurbishment of existing classrooms
- refurbishment of the existing preschool.
Progress summary
We are finalising the reports required for the statutory planning process and will advise the community when these are on public exhibition. We have also continued to further develop the design for the upgrade, in consultation with the Project Reference Group.
On 30 March 2026, an information session was held to share the masterplan and early designs with the Rydalmere Public School community. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their feedback.

In July 2026 a site assessment was completed with Aboriginal stakeholders as part of the Connecting with Country consultation process to identify cultural values and inform the project design.
Next steps
Planning for the Rydalmere Public School upgrade is continuing, with planning approval expected in early 2027. The tender process to appoint a construction contractor is expected to commence later in 2027. Following detailed planning, the updated forecast project completion is by 2029.
