REBUILDING PUBLIC EDUCATION IN MELROSE PARK: NEW HIGH SCHOOL FOR MELROSE PARK ON THE WAY

After 12 years of neglect by the former Liberal Government I’m pleased to announce that a new high school is set to be built in Melrose Park.

Located at 37 Hope Street, the new high school is scheduled for completion by the start of Term 1 in 2027. It will feature classrooms, support spaces, a library, outdoor learning areas and play spaces.

This new high school will provide significant benefits to the students of Melrose Park, enhancing their academic, physical and creative development while supporting the area's ongoing population growth.

The planning application (Review of Factors) is now available for public review on the NSW Planning Portal.

Public comments on the proposal can be submitted via the Planning Portal, you can find the portal link here. The submission deadline is until Thursday 10 April 2025.

MELROSE PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL REDEVELOPMENT UNDERWAY

Delivering on our commitment to you, the Melrose Park Public School redevelopment is now underway.

This redevelopment will include:

  • 32 new classrooms

  • 3 support classrooms

  • a NEW public preschool

  • new administrative spaces and upgrade to site services

  • a new library

  • new covered outdoor learning area (COLA) and play space

  • a new hall with a canteen, and

  • outside of school hours care (OOSH)

To support this redevelopment, a new purpose-built temporary school will open in mid-2025.

When the Minns Labor Government says that we want to ensure every student has access to a world-class education we mean it - and that’s proven right here in Melrose Park. You can find out more about this redevelopment here.
