After 12 years of neglect by the previous Liberal Government, I’m pleased to announce that we are removing every demountable and building 10 new permanent classrooms. 

CARTER STREET PRIMARY SCHOOL 
In the 2023 State Election, the Minns Labor Government committed to building a new primary school and preschool in the Carter Street Precinct. An ongoing legal dispute between the City of Parramatta Council and the developer has delayed the delivery of this commitment. In the meantime, the Minns Labor Government has decided to upgrade Newington Public School to cater for our growing community. 

REBUILDING PUBLIC EDUCATION
We’ve opened the new Wentworth Point High School and the $18.5 million Wentworth Point Public School Stage 2 upgrade is well underway. Teacher vacancies have been slashed by over 55 per cent in public schools across Parramatta. We have also delivered the first drop in teacher resignations in 13 
years.
