As a long-time advocate for the Parramatta North, Parramatta Female Factory and Institutions Precinct, I am proud to say that, with your support:

1. The Parramatta North Heritage and Cultural Precinct, including the Parramatta Female Factory will be saved and a substantial buffer zone will be created to support the World Heritage application.
2. We've delivered dramatic increases in the amount of open parkland along the Parramatta river. The proposal will lock in 21 hectares of open space, approximately half the entire precinct, with the inclusion of green corridors that did not exist in the previous Liberal Government's plans.
3. The draft plan also conserves more than 30 significant heritage buildings for community use.
4. A new university campus is earmarked for an area west of the Parramatta River including student accommodation.

This draft plan is the final piece of the puzzle for Parramatta and will help revitalise a largely dilapidated area.

Additionally, the Parramatta Light Rail will service this precinct and connect it to the future multi-billion dollar Metro West, making it easy for the community to access the rest of Sydney.

This plan is in line with the Minns Labor government's commitment to addressing Sydney’s housing crisis whilst respecting the area's history and planning for its future.

Our vision for Parramatta North is a vibrant, cohesive community which will create one of the most unique and attractive places to live, work and play in Sydney.

While this draft plan has come a long way since the Liberal Government's initial proposal, it is now out for community consultation.
