Building Better Schools for Parramatta
As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the 2025-26 Budget is delivering
$3.9 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment will ensure
growing communities get access to a world class public education.
The NSW government is planning an upgrade to Rydalmere Public School to accommodate the future
needs of the growing communities across the Rydalmere area.
The upgrade will include:
- a new hall with a COLA and new Out of School Hours facilities
- 3 new support learning classrooms
- refurbishment of the existing library
- refurbishment of the administrative facilities
- refurbishment of existing classrooms
- refurbishment of the existing preschool.
Further updates on the project will be provided as the project progresses.
Progress summary
Planning is underway, and a Project Reference Group (PRG) has been established. The PRG includes
school leadership representatives and is an advisory group that makes recommendations to the project
team on the design and operational requirements for the school.
Planning for this project involves considering the demographic and educational requirements for the
school and conducting site investigations and assessments.
Next steps
Over the coming weeks and months, planning activities will include:
- continuing due diligence investigations such as surveys, traffic and transport studies, bushfire
- assessments and other studies that aid and inform the design of the school upgrade
- refining the master plan
- engagement with educational leadership and other government agencies as part of the planning process.
A community information session will be held later this year to share designs and more details about the upgrade with the community.
