Building Better Schools for Parramatta
As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the 2024-25 Budget is delivering record education funding, including $3.6 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world-class public education.
Project overview
This upgrade will replace demountable classrooms with a new building that will include:
- 6 classrooms
- 2 multipurpose spaces
- 2 learning commons
- amenities
- a covered walkway connecting the new building to the existing school.
Progress summary
We are pleased to announce that Stephen Edwards Constructions has been selected as the construction contractor for the upgrade at Dundas Public School.
The Review of Environmental Factors (REF) has been finalised, and planning approval has been granted to proceed with the upgrade to Dundas Public School.
Next steps
We anticipate starting construction in mid 2025. Once a construction timeline has been established, we will provide a more accurate start date for the upgrade.
Before construction starts, we will establish the site compound. This will involve moving site sheds onsite and installing construction hoarding around the area to keep the public and school community safe and minimise disruption.
