Donna Davis MP has secured an extension for the public exhibition for ‘Block H’, to allow for residents to give their feedback over the school holiday period.
The proposal to amend the existing Homebush Bay West Development Control Plan (DCP) for the site at 16 Burroway Road and Part 5 Footbridge Boulevard, Wentworth Point - also known as ‘Block H’ - is now on public exhibition.
The exhibition period is open until 2 February 2024. The time for public consultation has been extended longer than usual to ensure that the holiday period does not impact the community’s ability to make a submission.
After advocacy by Donna Davis MP, the Department of Planning and Environment will also hold ‘Speak with a Planner’ sessions in the new year, to provide residents with an opportunity to speak with the Department’s planning team about the proposal.
The key changes that are proposed to the existing DCP include:
· An increase in the total gross floor area (GFA) from 32,400m2 to 98,619m2, including community facilities. This includes an increase to the residential GFA from 30,000m2 (approximately 350 dwellings) to 85,000m2 (approximately 997 dwellings).
· An increase to the maximum building height to 40 storeys across the site. This is up from 16 storeys (for part of the site) and 25 storeys (for another part of the site).
· An increase in the base building form from 8 storeys to 10 storeys
· Refinements to setbacks, tower footprints, and arrangement of building forms
· An increase in the minimum public open space from 10,973m² to 16,737m² which is to include a 10,044m² urban park.
· Changes to the layout and orientation of public open space.
The project team at the Department of Planning and Environment can be contacted for further information or enquiries on the proposal at [email protected]
Donna Davis MP, State Member for Parramatta said:
“I am acutely aware of the strong feelings in our community about this development.”
“I have been advocating to Paul Scully, the Minister for Planning, to ensure this proposal has the maximum possible consultation period applied and the Department continues to engage with our community on this matter.”
“I would encourage anyone who wants to make a submission on the proposal to do so within the exhibition period.”
